ASEAN+3 Cultural Heritage Forum 2015 “Potentiality of International Cooperation – Transmission and Utilization of Cultural Heritage in Southeast Asia”

Japan

In Southeast Asia, there has been a surge in interest regarding the utilization of cultural heritage, as well as its preservation and restoration. Today, it has become necessary to expand cooperation within Southeast Asia in the ways we view culture, in the technology to preserve and restore cultural heritage, in methods of transmission, and in personnel exchanges so that we can shape the future of the twenty-first century of Asian culture.

At the forum, experts from ASEAN countries as well as China, South Korea, and Japan that cooperatively support the ASEAN countries will meet. Countries with various political and economic systems will gather under one roof to discuss cultural heritage. The cultural heritage experts will openly discuss the state of tangible and intangible cultural heritage protection in their respective countries and the spirit behind the protection.
