We are currently calling for applications for the fourth iteration of ...and Action! Asia: Exchange Program for Students in Film Studies which will be held in Japan from February 27th to March 12th, 2018.
Students of film in Japan and Southeast Asia, please use this opportunity to expand your horizons in filmmaking! Application are due November 22, 2017!
About ...and Action! Asia
The Japan Foundation Asia Center carries out ...and Action! Asia: Exchange Program for Students in Film Studies to encourage the deepening of mutual understanding and fostering a new generation of filmmakers in the Asian countries.
The program welcomes students who are interested in achieving collaborative works in filmmaking and expanding their networks in the region, and using their experience for their studies and future careers.
This fiscal year, the program includes short film co-productions, their screening, and also discussions and lectures by professionals in the industry.
We believe the collaborative works and networks built through this program will lead to sustainable partnerships in film industries among Asian countries.

Filmmaking Students: Eighteen in total
- Southeast Asia: 12 (3 Students each from 4 Institutions)
- Japan: 6
Filmmaking Instructors: Four in total
Southeast Asia:1 Instructor from 4 Institutions
Formation of the Team (Southeast Asia)
- The Team will consist of three students and one instructor
- Applications are limited to one Team per institution

Submission Deadline
